In a recent update (previewed in November and rolling out more broadly between December 2025 and early 2026), Copilot now draws on your chat history to provide richer, more contextual responses tailored to you.
Personalised AI – on your terms
Previously, Copilot’s memory was limited to key information the user actively saved. With this update, it now also remembers relevant elements from past chat interactions, such as earlier questions, projects or preferences.
This makes Copilot’s replies not only more context-aware, but also more aligned with your way of working.
At the same time, Microsoft has introduced a clearer and more transparent settings interface, allowing you to easily view what Copilot remembers, edit that information – or turn memory off altogether if you want tighter control.
What this means in practice
- Copilot can now build on past conversations within the same workflow, helping responses stay consistent and relevant
- You gain a simpler way to manage your personalised experience, directly in the Copilot settings panel
- Copilot becomes a stronger everyday assistant – remembering your preferences, offering more relevant recommendations across tools like Word, Outlook and Teams
Tip: Explore your Copilot settings in Microsoft 365 to see how memory and personalisation can make your AI support more effective – and more intuitive – for your daily work.
